Sawfish conservation through collaboration.

The Sawfish Conservation Society’s mission is to connect the world to advance global sawfish education, research, and conservation. The SCS is a group of researchers, aquarists, managers, fishers, and enthusiasts that came together to rescue sawfishes from extinction.

The sawfish family (Pristidae) is divided into two genera (Anoxypristis and Pristis) and five species (Anoxypristis cuspidata, Pristis zijsron, Pristis clavata, Pristis pectinata and Pristis pristis).

Sawfishes have greatly decreased in number in the last century, due in part to habitat modification and mortality from fishing (mostly through bycatch).
